Joanna focuses her practice on real estate matters for condominium and homeowners’ associations. She works closely with boards and property managers, providing general counsel on legal issues that affect community operations.
Joanna advises boards on interpreting and enforcing governing documents, compliance matters, director and officer responsibilities, and insurance concerns. Her strong litigation background informs her work and gives her insight into how disputes arise, allowing her to help clients identify and manage risks early.
Earlier in her career, Joanna practiced in Illinois, handling commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters in both state and federal courts. She also served as a fellow with the City of Chicago’s Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division, where she assisted with federal court proceedings and trial preparation.
