Varnum Represents Michigan Manufacturer in Sale to Global Company

October 13, 2023

Extruded Aluminum Corporation (EAC), a manufacturer of custom extruded aluminum profiles with Michigan locations in Belding and Kentwood, was recently acquired by Metra S.p.A., a global manufacturer and a portfolio company of KPS Capital Partners.

The deal accelerates Italy-based Metra’s geographic expansion in North America, including entry into the high-growth utility grade solar industry, and provides additional opportunities for EAC’s 170 employees as well as access to additional resources and capabilities for its customers.

Varnum represented EAC in all aspects of the deal, negotiating and drafting transaction documents, advising on restructuring, tax, and real estate matters, and coordinating with advisors, third-party banks, and other service providers to effectuate a successful transaction. Pete Roth, Jake Droppers and Lauren Parker led Varnum’s efforts over the deal’s life cycle with Luis Avila, John Arendshorst, Matt Eugster, Melissa Papke, Shawn Strand and Michael Stroup providing specialized expertise throughout.

“We are pleased to have chosen the merger & acquisition team, led by Peter Roth, Jake Dropper and assisted by Lauren Parker,” said Charles Hall, President & CEO of Extruded Aluminum Corporation.  “As this was a complicated and complex process, they were supported by the strong Varnum team members. Their overall breadth of knowledge in this space, along with their high degree of professionalism and integrity made a complicated, complex process easier to understand and manage. The Varnum team is highly recommended for all who need M & A advisement and direction.”
