Litigation Attorney

Andrew is an attorney on Varnum’s Litigation and ADR Practice Team. He focuses his practice on environmental disputes and related regulatory matters, including compliance, permitting, and enforcement issues involving air quality, water quality, contaminated properties, remediation, and redevelopment.

His work includes matters involving the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and Endangered Species Act. Andrew also conducts environmental due diligence for conventional and renewable energy projects and represents clients in federal and state environmental enforcement matters. His litigation experience includes Clean Air Act matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Before entering private practice, Andrew served as a law clerk with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Appeals Board, where he conducted legal research related to a novel Clean Water Act permitting matter involving environmental and endangered species issues. He also served as a law clerk with the Salt Lake City Attorney’s Office, where he worked on matters involving water rights, constitutional issues, and public policy.

Andrew is admitted in Utah. His admission to the State Bar of Michigan is currently pending.
