Energy and Environmental Attorney
Tim practices energy and environmental law, with a focus on representing developers, lenders, independent power producers and large energy users on project development, and before the Michigan Public Service Commission. He serves as Michigan counsel on energy generation projects, advises clients on regulatory strategy, contested cases, and emerging energy policy, and helps businesses meet their energy needs. He has assisted data centers and other large energy users with evaluating power supply options and negotiating necessary agreements. He’s also involved in state legislative efforts and stakeholder processes supporting clean energy development. His recent work includes negotiating long-term power purchase agreements, obtaining Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) waivers, advising on interconnection agreements, and supporting the development of wind, solar, and renewable natural gas projects.
In his environmental practice, Tim counsels clients on permitting and compliance related to natural resources, water use and discharge, wetlands, and the Great Lakes. He has experience with site remediation, mineral extraction permitting, and spill response.
