Jake is a member of the firm’s Business and Corporate Services Team and focuses on areas of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, private offerings, corporate finance and other commercial transactions. He has experience working with businesses ranging from early stage startups to mature, privately-held businesses of all sizes. Jake’s representative experience spans a wide array of industries and includes clients such as manufacturers, distributors, food processors, early stage technology companies and banking entities.
In addition to general corporate services, Jake is also co-chair of the Food Law Team. His food law experience includes compliance with FDA labeling requirements and the Food Safety Modernization Act. Jake also has representative experience with agricultural cooperatives and the Capper Volstead Act.
Represented a leading carbon steel service center in its sale to a private equity fund. Negotiated the purchase agreement and provided counsel regarding the transaction structure, employee benefits, tax matters and antitrust filings under the Hart Scott Rodino Act.
Represented Granger Energy Services division's sale of 16 landfill gas-to-energy sites across six states to an Australian company. Negotiated sale agreement, coordinated antitrust filings, and advised on tax, employee benefits and energy regulatory matters.
