Varnum Welcomes 2026 Summer Associates

June 4, 2026

Varnum is pleased to welcome nine law students to the firm’s 2026 summer associate program. They will be placed across the firm’s offices in Michigan.

“Our summer associate program gives law students meaningful exposure to the practice of law and the client service that defines our firm,” said Varnum partner Seth Arthur, Summer Program Co-Chair. “By participating in important client matters and working with partners and associates across the firm, our summer associates gain experience essential to their legal careers.”

Varnum attorney Jordan Valentine, who also serves as Summer Program Co-Chair, said the program reflects the firm’s commitment to supporting students as they explore the legal profession.

“Summer associates bring curiosity, energy, and new perspectives to the firm,” Valentine said. “They contribute to our work in meaningful ways while building relationships across offices and gaining a better understanding of Varnum’s collaborative culture.”

Varnum’s summer associates receive assignments in a variety of practices and have the opportunity to join client meetings, court hearings, conference calls, and other experiences that allow them to see the firm’s attorneys in action. The students also take part in networking and community projects throughout the ten-week program.

  • Evan R. Arturi, Wayne State University
  • Everest Brace, Wayne State University
