Varnum partner Timothy K. Kroninger has been named to the council of the Antitrust, Franchise and Trade Regulation Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He will serve on the council for a three-year term.
The Antitrust, Franchising, and Trade Regulation Section provides education, information and analysis about issues of concern through meetings, seminars, public service programs, and publication of a newsletter. The Council meets regularly throughout the year to plan programming and other activities for the section and provides a record of activity for the SBM annual report.
Kroninger is a member of the firm’s Business and Corporate Services Practice Team and serves as co-chair of Varnum’s Intellectual Property Practice Team. He has extensive experience in intellectual property and contract law; corporate and general business law; franchise law; commercial transactions; warranty, marketing, and disclosure law; and trademark, copyright, and technology licensing as well as litigation. Kroninger is also an active member of the firm’s Venture Capital and Emerging Companies Team, working frequently with startup businesses and entrepreneur support organizations.
Kroninger has vast experience in negotiating, drafting, and analyzing complex franchise and license agreements, as well as handling and managing business transactions of all types and sizes, that involve the diverse areas of intellectual property, trade secrets, manufacturing, distribution, sales, marketing, insurance and indemnification, financials, and warranty and quality control.
Kroninger is a member of numerous professional organizations and serves as Director and Adjunct Professor of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Trademark and Entrepreneur Clinic. He is a frequent presenter on intellectual property topics at the collegiate level and to entrepreneur organizations.
