EvaGenomics, an Ann Arbor-based biotech startup, has developed an innovative platform that uses symptom-based assessments and personalized genetic testing recommendations to help individuals understand the genetic factors behind health concerns. By combining advanced genomics, deep analysis, and a user-friendly experience, the company simplifies complex data into meaningful, lifelong guidance. It delivers educational reports and ongoing updates that keep users informed about their health and emerging scientific discoveries.
In early 2025, EvaGenomics joined Varnum’s MiSpringboard program. Since then, Varnum has helped establish the company’s legal foundation by preparing organizational documents, securing required filings, and drafting key agreements. The firm has also supported regulatory compliance through data privacy and protection reviews, consent form updates, and guidance on applicable privacy and AI laws for handling genetic information, as well as applicable healthcare laws.
The Varnum team advising EvaGenomics is led by partner Jake Whately and includes John Rolecki, Yvonne George, Amy Baddley, and Lindsay DeLang.
Launched in 2011, the MiSpringboard program was created to remove barriers associated with starting a business by providing free legal services to startups. To date, Varnum has assisted nearly 1,000 clients through the program.
