Varnum Welcomes Litigation Partner Holly Rice

April 30, 2026

Varnum is pleased to announce that partner Holly Rice has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice Team in the Naples office.

Rice represents clients in complex litigation matters, including construction disputes, contract claims, insurance coverage issues, Condo and HOA disputes, and other business-related conflicts. She brings many years of experience handling matters in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration proceedings across the United States. Her practice spans all phases of litigation, from pre-suit strategy and negotiations through trial and appeal. Holly also advises on high-net-worth family law matters involving asset division and related financial issues for clients with significant personal and business interests.

Before joining Varnum, Rice served as a partner at a national law firm, where she focused on insurance coverage litigation and represented corporate policyholders in high-stakes insurance claims. Earlier in her career, she developed her trial skills as a prosecutor, handling jury and bench trials, evidentiary hearings, and contested motions.

“Holly’s arrival reflects the continued growth of our Naples office and the demand we are seeing for sophisticated litigation counsel in the region,” said Tom Forster, lead partner of the Naples office. “Her background adds meaningful depth to our capabilities in a key area for many of our clients.”

Rice is active in the Southwest Florida community and maintains strong ties to the Naples area through her professional and civic involvement. She is a member of the Collier County Bar Association, an active alumnus of Associate Leadership Collier, and serves on the Law Alumni Council of the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. She received her undergraduate degree from Stonehill College in Massachusetts.
