Varnum provides counsel across the full spectrum of real estate law, including issues specific to condominium and homeowners associations

From acquisitions and financings to development, management, leasing and governance matters, we advise scores of condominium and homeowners associations (COAs and HOAs) across Florida and Michigan in connection with a variety of matters, including corporate governance, compliance, insurance, risk management and contract negotiation. As a recognized thought leader, we routinely deliver seminars and training sessions to board members, property managers and directors on pertinent topics, changing laws and certification requirements.

COAs and HOAs rely on Varnum to enforce rules and regulations, provide guidance on contracts and governing documents, and assist with vendor negotiations, all in furtherance of the board’s fiduciary duties and compliance requirements. Especially amidst the frequent shifts in Florida legislation and the complexity of existing statutes, Varnum attorneys ensure that boards are up to date on the newest laws and how they may impact communities.

With our broad and deep expertise in all areas of real estate law, we represent our clients vigorously, always keeping their end goal in mind. We routinely advise our COA and HOA clients on all manner of legal matters, including with respect to:
