Karissa J. Rendon

Law Clerk

Karissa Rendon supports multiple practice teams through legal research, writing, drafting memoranda and complaints, preparing client advisories, and assisting with case preparation. Before joining Varnum, she worked at MGS Consultants, a state government lobbying firm serving multiple clients. She began as a legislative intern during her undergraduate studies and returned after graduation for a year as a full-time political consultant, working to advance state legislation.

During law school at the University of Michigan, Karissa served as a student attorney with the Michigan Innocence Clinic, where she investigated wrongful conviction cases, researched legal issues, and prepared briefs and motions. She also served as careers chair for First Generation Law Students and was a member of the Women Law Students Association and Latinx Law Students Association. Her admission to the State Bar of Michigan is currently pending.
