ABA Journal Features Data Security Article by Varnum Attorneys

The American Bar Association recently published a comprehensive article by Varnum attorneys John Rolecki and Yezi (Amy) Yan outlining the current regulatory environment impacting data security practices. The article was published in the ABA’s Spring 2021 issue of The Brief.

“Data Security in 2021: Unfairness, Deception, and Reasonable Measures,” includes a detailed look at the laws and legal landscape now regulating businesses’ cybersecurity practices, from the 1914 Federal Trade Commission Act to the recent FTC settlement with Zoom Video Communications in late 2020.

In addition to outlining the evolution of today’s cybersecurity regulatory environment, the article includes best practices that businesses can and should follow to ensure compliance and protect their digital assets.
