Varnum Represents Acrisure in $2.1B Capital Raise

May 21, 2025

Varnum acted as Michigan counsel to Acrisure, a global fintech leader, in its recent $2.1 billion capital raise led by Bain Capital.

Funds from the capital raise will be used to refinance a portion of Acrisure’s existing preferred stock and accelerate Acrisure’s development as a technology-enabled financial services platform, advancing its strategy to become the preeminent fintech solutions provider for millions of small- and medium-sized businesses domestically and abroad.

The Varnum team was led by partners Seth Ashby and Christopher George and included Michael Wooldridge, Lauren Parker, and Michael Puro. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP also represented Acrisure in the deal. Varnum served as co-counsel in Acrisure’s prior capital markets transactions as well. Since 2022, Acrisure’s valuation increased to $32 billion, marking a nearly 40 percent increase.
