Varnum attorney Luis Avila has been named to VIVE Magazine’s list of Most Influential Latinos in West Michigan. The inaugural list of 25 honorees – out of more than 600 nominations – was announced September 28 at a gala event during Hispanic Heritage Month.
Avila is an experienced labor and employment attorney. He represents employers in a wide range of matters including grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, union drives, and matters in front of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Michigan Employment Relations Commission (MERC).
Within the community, Avila currently serves on the boards of the Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority, the Grand Rapids Symphony, Mary Free Bed and the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of Leadership Grand Rapids Class of 2018.
Avila is regularly recognized by The Best Lawyers in America®, Top Lawyers, and Michigan Super Lawyers® as a Rising Star. He was recognized as one of the Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees five times.
