Corporate Attorney

David is a partner and member of Varnum’s Corporate Practice Team. He advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and cross-border corporate matters, particularly those involving Korean businesses or multinational companies operating in Korea.

David has advised on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, minority and controlling-stake investments, venture capital investments, corporate spin-offs, and other transactions. His transaction experience spans industries including automotive, electronics, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, chemicals, shipbuilding, technology, and online retail.

Fluent in Korean and English, David works with clients on transactions involving U.S., Korean and other international business interests. He has experience with deal structures and regulatory considerations that arise in cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining Varnum, David practiced at Wall Street and Magic Circle law firms, as well as law firms in Korea. His background also includes capital markets, antitrust and competition, privacy and data security, financial regulation, and compliance matters.

David earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.A. with honors in Political Science from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in New York and is qualified as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Korea.

David is admitted in New York. His admission to the State Bar of Michigan is currently pending.
