Commercial Contract Experience
Adam is a partner in the Trial Practice Group concentrating on complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts. He has extensive first-chair experience, including trial, appellate, and alternative dispute resolution work. While Adam has experience in a broad range of matters, including intellectual property litigation, the defense of wrongful death claims, property tax litigation, and cases involving covenants not to compete, his work is primarily focused on commercial contract disputes, including cases involving automotive and other manufacturers.
Recent Representative Matters

Successfully represented plaintiffs in a multi-million dollar lawsuit against former financial advisor, national securities firm, and local securities firm, involving the loss of family fortune through fraud, inappropriate investments, and failure of the securities firms to properly supervise.

Served as plaintiffs' counsel for employee benefit plan in matter involving the filling of nearly $600,000 in fraudulent prescriptions by spouse of former employee. Case was settled, resulting in a near full recovery of amounts that had been paid by the benefit plan.

Defended local company in AAA arbitration proceeding in connection with dispute over payment of multi-million dollar earn-out after acquisition of the plaintiffs' business by our client. Arbitration was resolved through settlement favorable to client.

Represented defendants in connection with expansive, multi-million dollar family dispute, obtaining dismissal of most claims through victories in Kent County Circuit Court, Kent County Probate Court, Michigan Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Michigan. The few remaining claims were resolved through settlement favorable to clients.

Served as defense counsel for a national provider of health care software systems, in connection with computer copyright infringement claim in which the plaintiff sought $92 million in damages. Following substantial limitation of the plaintiff's potential damages during the summary judgment process, case was resolved through settlement favorable to client.

Represented national trucking firm in defending against numerous wrongful death and personal injury cases, all of which were successfully resolved through either dismissal or settlement.

Following successful defense of a motion for summary disposition, obtained settlement favorable to client with respect to multi-million dollar dispute between steel supplier and Tier II automotive supplier.
