Ali is a member of the firm’s Corporate Practice Team, where he focuses on representing sponsors and investment managers with a variety of private fund matters, including fund formation, structuring, governance, regulatory and compliance. He is experienced in all aspects of forming and structuring private funds including master-feeder funds, parallel funds and co-investment vehicles, funds-of-one, joint ventures and separately managed accounts that primarily pursue private equity, structured finance, private credit, hedge or venture capital investment strategies. He also advises clients on securities and investment adviser regulations and compliance matters.
Additionally, Ali has experience advising public and private companies on transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and structured financings, and general corporate governance. He also represents financial institutions and investment management firms with respect to purchases, sales and servicing of mortgage-related assets, including mortgage servicing rights.
Ali is admitted to practice in New York. His admission to the State Bar of Michigan is currently pending.
