BAMF Health, Battle Creek Unlimited, MasterTag Earn Top Recognition in Life Sciences, Economic Development and Manufacturing Verticals
Varnum represented clients honored in several “Deal of the Year” categories in this year’s MiBiz M&A Deals and Dealmaker Awards. The annual awards spotlight best practices and excellence related to mergers, acquisitions, capital formation and other types of deal making.
Among the Varnum clients recognized in this year’s awards are the following:
BAMF Health, Inc. took top honors in the Life Sciences category in recognition of the establishment of its $30 million global headquarters in Grand Rapids. Located on the Medical Mile, the facility features an advanced cyclotron-equipped radiopharmacy and molecular imaging and theranostics clinics. The headquarters and clinics are expected to employ 200 people and are slated to open this summer. Read more in this profile.
In the Economic Development category, Battle Creek Unlimited took top honors for its role in reviving a prominent downtown property after a failed attempt by a private developer. The nonprofit organization gained control of the McCamly Plaza Hotel property less than two years ago and has since created a for-profit entity, 50 Capital Ave. Development Corp., to secure the necessary capital and grant funding to move the project forward. MasterTag was recognized as the top deal in the Manufacturing category for its sale to nationally-known Avery Products Corp., a deal that will allow the Montague-based company to expand production space and streamline various areas of production. The company exclusively supplies the horticulture industry with printed labels and tags for plants. Read more about the deal in this profile.
