November 2, 2020

Michigan Lawyers Weekly has named Varnum partner Sarah Wixson to the 2020 list of Up and Coming Lawyers.

Honorees for the annual list are young attorneys who, in their first ten years of practice, have excelled in their profession and among their peers. Wixson and others who made the list will be recognized on December 3 during a virtual event.

Wixson is a partner in Varnum’s health care practice group. Her unique practice includes working with physicians, physician groups, hospitals and health care entities on mergers and acquisitions, compliance and licensing. Wixson represents businesses and individuals in litigation matters. She has successfully prosecuted claims and defended corporate clients and individuals in connection with partnership agreements, contracts, business arrangements, shareholder disputes, real estate matters and complex commercial litigation.

Wixson has been with Varnum since February 2018 and was voted into the partnership in January 2020. She received her law degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2012, working as an Editor for the Wayne Law Review. She earned her undergraduate degree from Hope College.

Wixson was recently named Best Lawyers® as one of the 2021 Ann Arbor “Ones to Watch,” a designation given to attorneys who are earlier in their careers in recognition of their outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

Wixson is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to all Michigan state courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals or the Sixth Court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. She is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Litigation Counsel of America, and is the co-chair of Washtenaw County Bar Association’s Business Section.
