Michigan Lawyers Weekly Recognized Varnum Staffers with Legal Heroes Award

December 1, 2021

Varnum employees Shelli Erffmeyer and Renee Stallions were named to the recently-announced “Unsung Legal Heroes” Class of 2021, as presented by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

The recognition honors non-attorney members of the legal profession who have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes. According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, “This award is reserved for the state’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals.”

Erffmeyer is a legal assistant currently supporting several attorneys in Varnum’s litigation group. She has over 28 years of law firm experience, serving at Varnum since 2010. The attorneys she works with credit her for being extremely knowledgeable and willing to jump in to help, and for her exceptional work product. Others noted her initiative and dedication throughout the pandemic, ensuring that attorneys and clients received seamless service.

Stallions is a senior systems applications analyst in Varnum’s Information Technology Department. Since joining the firm in 2015, she has made substantial contributions to the department while also supporting a wide range of users across the firm’s eight offices. Stallions’ work ethic and flexibility throughout the pandemic was also noted, ensuring that technology operated seamlessly while addressing user needs.

“Both Shelli and Renee are very deserving of this recognition. Their exemplary service and commitment to the firm was especially appreciated this past year throughout the challenges of the pandemic,” said Varnum Executive Partner Scott Hill.” As we congratulate Shelli and Renee, we are once again reminded of the vital role of our support staff. Their contributions are critical to the success of our firm.”

Michigan Lawyers Weekly will recognize the 2021 class of Unsung Legal Heroes in a special publication on December 20. More about the award and this year’s recipients can be found at milawyersweekly.com.
