September 10, 2019

Varnum estate planning attorney Tom Kyros has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Citizens Research Council, Michigan’s oldest public policy research organization.

Headquartered in Livonia, the Council seeks to bring about government that is more efficient, accountable and equitable by providing factual, unbiased, independent information on significant issues concerning state and local government organization and finance. The Board of Directors is the active policy-making body of the Council.

Kyros has more than 25 years of experience designing and implementing sophisticated estate plans and advising family business owners. In addition to his practice, he works with several West Michigan nonprofit organizations as a trustee and advisor, including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation and Grand Rapids Community Foundation. He formerly served the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation, Hope College Alumni Association and Heart of West Michigan United Way.

In addition, Kyros has held many leadership positions within Varnum, including serving six years as executive partner and as a member of firm’s Policy Committee.
