Ed Gusky Named “Michigan Go To Lawyer” for Real Estate and Condo Law

June 30, 2022

Varnum attorney Ed Gusky has been selected as a Go To Lawyer for Real Estate and Condominium Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. He is one of only 20 lawyers across the state to receive this recognition. Now in its third year, the “Go To Lawyers” program recognizes leading lawyers in a particular field of law.

Gusky’s practice focuses primarily on the representation of multistate developers and financial institutions in a variety of real estate matters. He was part of the Varnum team representing a medical office building developer in a recent $250 million loan facility for the acquisition and refinance of 11 buildings across five states. That deal was on the heels of completing a previous $150 million loan facility for the client, in connection with the acquisition and refinancing of eight medical office buildings in various parts of the country. He also served on the team that completed an additional $57 million in acquisition and construction loans for the client within a 30-day period.

In addition to his practice, Gusky is active in the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Michigan including serving as a speaker at the section’s most recent conference. He has also served as a panelist for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education on real estate matters.

Gusky has an AV-Preeminent™ rating (the highest possible) from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by his peers as a leader in both Real Estate and Finance in DBusiness Magazine’s annual Top Lawyer recognition.

The Go To Lawyers program recognizes leading lawyers in a particular field of law. A “Go To Lawyer” is:

  • An expert in his or her field, well-versed in case law, statutes and regulations.
  • Experienced, with a record of success.
  • A lawyer to whom other lawyers make referrals because of his or her expertise and accomplishments.
  • A lawyer who can think creatively and identify all options for a client.

Gusky and others named Michigan Go To Lawyers for Real Estate and Condominium Law will be profiled in a special section of Michigan Lawyers Weekly on July 25, 2022.
