Varnum litigation attorney Will Thompson was recently named vice president of the Detroit Veterans Bar Association.
Founded in 2013, the DVBA is open to past or present members of the State Bar of Michigan who have served in a branch of the U.S. military. The group meets several times a year for veteran-related community service work and networking events.
“Those that have served their country all have a common bond. The Veterans Bar Association seeks to enhance that bond between prior service members in the legal profession,” said Thompson, who encourages veterans in the legal industry to join the group.
Thompson is an associate attorney whose practice is primarily focused on complex commercial, tax and insolvency litigation. His legal experience includes assisting clients with a wide variety of commercial litigation issues, ranging from standard breach of contract claims to complex ERISA fraud claims.
Prior to his legal career, Thompson served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 2nd Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He served tours of duty in Iraq (2006) and Afghanistan (2008).
The Detroit Veterans Bar Association welcomes new members. Contact Will Thompson for more information or visit the DVBA Facebook page.
