Varnum labor and employment attorney Ashleigh Draft was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Literacy Center of West Michigan.
With a mission to bring about a just and vibrant West Michigan, the Literacy Center offers a variety of programs for adults who read below a 9th grade level. The organization offers one-on-one tutoring, work-related classes and family literacy programming.
Draft focuses her practice on labor and employment matters, including workplace investigations, defending clients in grievance arbitrations and resolution of employment-related disputes. She advises clients on compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws and other workplace matters, including effective employee handbooks and policies, discrimination, disability accommodation and wage-hour issues.
Draft is a summa cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law. She received a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University and her undergraduate degree from Calvin University.
