Varnum routinely works with lenders to minimize their environmental risks by helping them to assess the potential impact of environmental issues on collateral (including environmental liability at contaminated sites), conduct due diligence in conjunction with foreclosure and/or acquisition of real estate by the lender, and develop internal environmental risk management plans and policies.
On Tuesday, March 26 our Environmental Law for Lenders breakfast seminar will cover some of the topics that lenders need to be aware of when it comes to matters relating to construction and real estate.
The seminar will provide an overview of Michigan environmental law, including environmental liability and defenses for owners, operators and lenders as well as environmental considerations in lender financing, acquisitions and foreclosures. Additionally, Matthew Vander Eide from GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. will be on-hand to discuss a consultant’s perspective on environmental due diligence.
