The Negligence and Personal Injury Practice Group developed out of a desire to provide personal services to Varnum clients, friends and family during a time of difficulty. Nearly every personal injury case we accept begins with a referral—from our current and former employees, our clients and their employees, and the vast Varnum family. It makes sense that when one of our clients or friends is in need, we want to help.

This may simply mean providing the best legal counsel possible or it could include dealing with the media, creditors, investment advisors or people preying upon your vulnerability.

We do not accept every case that comes our way. Each case is examined for its merits, how well it fits with our experience and the potential outcome for the client. We don't gamble. We take cases we believe we can win. That doesn't mean we don't like a challenge, it means we are realistic with our clients from the beginning.

We are very conscious of potential conflicts with our current clients. Because we have numerous medical professionals and facilities as firm clients, we do not accept medical malpractice cases. We will, however, help you find the right attorney outside of Varnum.

Typically, a personal injury client does not have the funds to pay for a large corporate firm to represent them. We help break down the financial barrier to legal representation by offering our services on a contingency basis. Our fees are based on a percentage of the dollars we help you recover, and out-of-pocket expenses, such as court fees and medical record costs can be paid for from your recovery amount
