Varnum is pleased to announce that Christopher “C.J.” Biggs has joined the firm’s Environmental Practice Team. He is based in the Grand Rapids office.
Biggs’ legal background includes legal research and writing on a variety of environmental and regulatory matters, including the Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act. While in law school, he served as a legal extern for the EPA Region 5 Air and Radiation Division, drafting and finalizing enforcement actions. He also served as a legal intern with the California Department of Justice Office of the Attorney General, Natural Resources Section, and as a Stanford Legal Fellow with the Center for Biological Diversity, Oceans Program.
Biggs received his law degree from Stanford Law School, where he served as Lead Article Editor for Stanford Environmental Law Journal. He attended University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree, graduating with Highest Distinction and double major in Honors English and Environmental Science & Policy.
