Bhashit Shah Joins Varnum Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Team

New Privacy Partner Brings Substantial In-House and Private Practice Experience

Bhashit “Sheek” Shah has joined Varnum’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Team. Shah brings significant experience to the data privacy practice, including serving as Lead Counsel at Meta Platforms, Inc. (f/k/a “Facebook, Inc.”), where he advised on the design and operation of an industry-leading privacy compliance program.

Shah serves as a strategic business partner to clients, providing practical and efficient counsel on all aspects of data privacy best practices and regulatory compliance to help navigate the patchwork of laws that impact the collection, use, sharing, and sale of data in existing business initiatives and as clients consider the launch of new technologies, products or services. Shah focuses his practice on the development and implementation of compliance programs that address the various global privacy regimes around the world, including GDPR, PIPEDA, LGPD and U.S. State Privacy Laws.

Shah is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was a staff member of the Journal of Law, Technology & Policy. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He joins Varnum from Reed Smith LLP.

Shah was recognized by Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” in 2021 and named to Modern Counsel 35 Under 35 in 2022.
