Kathleen is an associate at Varnum and focuses her practice on Varnum’s Privacy and Mobility team. She is skilled in regulatory compliance consulting, drafting memoranda and researching for autonomous and connected vehicle clients. Certified with CIPP/US credentials, Kathleen also advises on matters regarding data privacy regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Additionally, Kathleen has experience in consulting clients on automotive defect reporting regulations, multi-state labor and employment law matters and multi-state business taxation issues.

Prior to joining Varnum, Kathleen served as a legal intern at the National Wildlife Federation and at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, focusing on regulatory, land management and environmental conservation matters. She was also a member of the Michigan Journal of Environmental & Administrative Law and participated in Michigan Law’s Environmental Law and Sustainability Clinic, where she authored various public reports on environmental justice, assisted with an amicus brief on behalf of a non-profit in a Tenth Circuit case and supported research concerning PFAS litigation.
