Chloe is an associate attorney on Varnum’s Litigation and Trial Practice Team. She represents clients throughout all stages of the litigation process, including hearings, depositions, trial, and appellate proceedings.
Chloe’s practice has a unique focus on real estate litigation, where she has extensive experience handling a variety of matters such as trespass claims, boundary disputes, zoning issues, adverse possession and quiet title actions. She is particularly knowledgeable in representing lakefront property owners in disputes over beachfront property, including proscriptive easements and riparian rights issues.
In addition to her real estate litigation practice, Chloe advises clients on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other healthcare related matters. She is part of the Varnum team that helped more than 200 companies prevail in court or achieve favorable settlements stemming from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s ERISA violations in so-called “hidden fee” litigation.
Chloe’s litigation practice also includes defending law enforcement personnel in civil rights litigation and constitutional law matters, in both trial and appellate courts.
Prior to joining Varnum, Chloe served as an intern for the American Medical Association’s Office of General Counsel. She also served as an editor of the Annals of Health Law and Life Sciences Journal and a member of the Loyola Law Journal.
