Andrea M. Gumushian

Andrea is an associate on Varnum’s data privacy and mobility practice teams. She advises leading mobility and technology providers on domestic and international data privacy laws and regulations. Her practice also includes advising leading autonomous vehicle companies on compliance with state laws and regulations. She helps companies navigating the evolving public policy landscape surrounding data privacy, connected and autonomous vehicles.

Andrea helps clients implement compliance requirements under the California Consumer Privacy Act and EU-GDPR. Before joining Varnum, Andrea was on the legal team for a leading SaaS provider to the automotive and insurance industries. She has experience supporting entities bringing software products and services to market.

While anticipating her license to practice in Michigan, Andrea supports clients remotely from Washington, D.C. She is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and the State of California.

Andrea is a member of the California Lawyers Association Privacy Law Section. She sits on the Legislative Committee, which tracks privacy bills moving through the state legislature and works with state lawmakers to provide comments and feedback on proposed data privacy laws.
