Litigation Attorney

Matt is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Team. He is experienced in all facets of civil litigation, from pretrial discovery and motion practice through trial preparation, mediation, settlement conferences and appeals. Matt has a particular focus on public entity law including eminent domain and complex unfair competition cases.



Served as lead associate representing public transportation agency in several eminent domain cases related to two multi-billion-dollar subway construction projects.

Investigated, interviewed witnesses, took and defended depositions, and managed trial preparation efforts as lead associate in employee dismissal cases for large public school district client; represented client at prehearing and settlement conferences.

Served as lead associate defending manufacturer against suit alleging failure to adequately warn consumers under Prop. 65 (California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act).

Drafted pleadings, memoranda, discovery in state and federal cases involving public entity contracts and complex construction disputes, and public entity labor law.
