USCIS: Form I-9 Remains in Effect After Expiration Date

August 28, 2019

UPDATE: New Form I-9 Effective May 1, 2020

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that until further notice employers should continue to use the existing Form I-9 for employment eligibility verification. The current version of the form will remain effective even after the August 31, 2019 expiration date. USCIS will provide updated information about the new version of Form I-9 as it becomes available.

Employers must complete Form I-9 for all newly hired employees to verify their identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
