Form I-9 Does Not Expire

August 13, 2012

On August 13, 2012, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that until further notice, employers should continue using the current Form I-9 despite the 08/31/2012 OMB control number expiration date. Employers must complete Form I-9 for all new hires to verify identity and authorization to work in the United States. USCIS continues to review the proposed changes to the new version of the Form I-9 and will issue an announcement when finalized and issued. We will provide updates about the new Form I-9 as available.
