VerBeek Appointed to Officers' Compensation Commission by Kent County
The Kent County Board of Commissioners appointed Varnum partner Carl VerBeek to the Officers' Compensation Commission for the 2011-2012 term.

In addition to his civic service, VerBeek is a leader in the legal community. He is a frequent speaker at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), the American and State Bar meetings on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and at Labor Arbitration Institute forums. VerBeek also serves on many professional and business boards, including the Grand Rapids Bar Foundation Board and the Attorney Discipline Board for the State of Michigan, as appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court. VerBeek has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® every year since 1989.
Outside his practice, VerBeek pours hours into non-profit and community organizations. He is the chair of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board and serves on the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Kent Health Plan Corporation Board of Directors, Holland Home Board of Directors and Faith Hospice Board of Directors.
