Varnum has announced another expansion of its Ann Arbor office with the firm’s recent move to 101 North Main Street. The move comes just three years after the firm opened its office in the Kerrytown neighborhood and five years after establishing a presence in Ann Arbor.
“It was very important to us that we be downtown, in the heart of the city,” said Matt Bower who serves as the lead attorney in the Ann Arbor office. “In addition to being in walking distance to the courthouse and Main Street amenities, the larger space will help us keep up with our growing head count in Ann Arbor.”
Varnum’s client base in Southeast Michigan has grown more than 50 percent in the past five years, and a majority of the attorneys who have joined the firm in the past 18 months are based in one of the firm’s four Southeast Michigan offices. In addition to Ann Arbor, Varnum has offices in Detroit, Birmingham and Novi, as well as Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing and Grand Haven.
Currently ranked as the fourth largest firm in the state, Varnum continues to actively recruit talent in the Southeast Michigan region. A total of eight attorneys are based in the Ann Arbor office, which can accommodate about twice that number. The new space includes dedicated parking in a covered lot and a state-of-the-art office environment – attractive features for clients as well as recruits.
