Varnum Welcomes New Attorney To Metro Detroit Office
Varnum is pleased to announce that business and corporate attorney Matthew W. Bower has joined the firm as counsel in the Metro Detroit office.
Bower's practice focuses in the area of general business and commercial transactions with particular emphasis representing technology, internet and software startup to mid-sized companies. He also practices intellectual property law, specifically copyright, publishing, and licensing.
Bower is a frequent presenter on intellectual property matters and is the author of several published articles on internet law matters. He serves on the board of directors of the Michigan Youth Arts Association and serves on the advisory committee for ArtServe Michigan's Lawyers for the Creative Economy Program, where he also serves as a volunteer lawyer.
Bower received his law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School Of Law in New York, NY where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the school's intellectual property law journal. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Theatre from the University of Michigan. Bower practiced law in New York and most recently with a small Michigan firm prior to joining Varnum.
