Varnum Represents PE Firm Blackford Capital in Acquisition of Kingsport Book

November 29, 2017

Printing Consolidation Company of Grand Rapids, a portfolio company of Blackford Capital, has acquired Tennessee-based Kingsport Book, a high-end printing, finishing and fulfillment company for book and trade materials. The deal was announced November 6. It is the second company in the book printing industry to be acquired by Printing Consolidation Company, which previously acquired Grand Rapids-based Dickinson Press.

Varnum attorneys Pete Roth and Jake Droppers represented Blackford Capital on the transaction, negotiating the purchase agreement, advising on the structure of the transaction, and facilitating the closing. Blackford Associate James Cook led the deal for Blackford.

“We have worked with Varnum on several deals in the past, and our experience with Pete and Jake has been excellent,” Cook said. “We continue to work with Varnum because they are efficient and responsive to our needs.”
