Varnum Awards Diversity and Inclusion Pre-Law Internship for 2013
Varnum is pleased to announce that Grand Valley State University student Michelle Bouwkamp and University of Michigan student Alexandria Michele Foster have been selected for the 2013 Diversity and Inclusion Pre-Law Internship Program.
The paid Internship program was created to provide encouragement and experience to college students who embody a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion and who are considering a career in law. Designed to expose students to all areas of a large law firm, the internship will go through the spring semester and will consist of working with attorneys as well as rotating through other departments of the firm, including marketing, human resources, library and central services.
Michelle Bouwkamp is a sophomore at Grand Valley State University double majoring in Chinese Studies and Marketing. Bouwkamp will be interning at Varnum's Grand Rapids office.
Alexandria Michele Foster is a sophomore at the University of Michigan where she is studying Political Science. Foster will be interning at Varnum's Metro Detroit office.

"Michelle and Alexandria are bright and talented individuals who have strived to promote diversity and inclusion in their schools and communities; we are honored to assist them as they consider their career in law."
In order to be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Student of Academic achievement as reflected by a cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA
- Member of an ethnic or racial minority or demonstrates a significant commitment to issues of ethnic or racial diversity and inclusion
- Sophomore of Junior level student currently attending an accredited Michigan college or university
