Varnum has received 63 regional rankings in 42 practice areas in the latest edition of “Best Law Firms,” published by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers®. The 2018 report was released November 1.
“Best Law Firms” rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process. To be eligible for a ranking in a particular practice and metro region, a law firm must have at least one lawyer who is included in Best Lawyers® in that particular practice area and metro. Varnum is ranked in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Lansing.
During the interview process, clients and peers were asked to evaluate firms based on responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, integrity and civility, as well as whether they would refer a matter to the firm and/or consider the firm a worthy competitor.
