Stefan Addresses Regulatory Issues at Autonomous Vehicle Legal Forum
Varnum attorney Jeffrey Stefan will moderate a panel discussion on regulation of autonomous vehicles at the Autolex: Autonomous Vehicle Legal Forum in Detroit on Sept. 10.
Stefan, who heads Varnum’s Autonomous and Connected Vehicles Team, will lead a discussion on current federal regulations, the issue of coping with multiple and dissimilar state laws and executive orders, and the need for new federal AV safety standards. Panelists include Steve Gehring, vice president of Vehicle Safety & Connected Automation, Global Automakers; and Catherine McCullough, executive director of Intelligent Car Coalition.
Stefan is a technology-focused corporate attorney with broad legal authority in autonomous and connected vehicles. He helps clients navigate the evolving legal and public policy landscape for new and emerging technologies. Stefan previously served as counsel for autonomous vehicles at a major global automaker, where he additionally supported the automaker’s emerging technology portfolio.
