Pereira's State Bar Presentation to Focus on Use of Technology in Family Law Matters
The impact of technology on family law matters will be the focus of Varnum attorney Jude Pereira's presentation at this year's Mid-Summer Conference for the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
Pereira will discuss the legalities of a wife or husband eavesdropping on his/her spouse, secretly recording his/her spouse, and accessing a spouse's online accounts or "cloud."
This is the third year Pereira has been selected to speak at the Family Law Section's Mid-Summer Conference, set for July 16 –19 at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls.
Pereira has over 18 years' experience in all aspects of family law including divorce and post-judgment matters, child custody and support, parenting time, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and related matters. He is experienced in the areas of complex business valuations, forensic accounting, and mental health illnesses as they relate to marital difficulties, custody and parenting time. He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Outside of his practice, Pereira volunteers as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), representing abused and neglected children. He also serves on the YWCA Board of Directors.
