Nemeth Named to Detroit Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees
Varnum attorney Eric Nemeth has been named to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) Board of Trustees.
Serving one of the country’s most active orchestras, the Board of Trustees is charged with infusing creativity and innovation into the DSO’s offerings and outreach. Trustees engage in task forces and learning labs to increase the organization’s entrepreneurial capabilities while implementing and evaluating new approaches in areas including audience development, branding, digital media, education, and beyond.
A lifelong Detroiter, Nemeth serves as chair of the Varnum tax team. He focuses his practice on tax and financial controversy. Prior to entering private practice, Nemeth served as a senior trial attorney for the District Council of the IRS and as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Department of Justice. He also served for ten years in the U.S. Army Reserve, concluding his service at the rank of Major. Nemeth is a frequent speaker and instructor on IRS procedures and investigations.
