Moore Named to Westside Collaborative Board
Varnum attorney Barbara Moore has been named to the board of directors of the Westside Collaborative.
The Westside Collaborative is an alliance of nonprofit and faith-based agencies working together to improve the quality of life for all Westside residents of Grand Rapids. The organization was founded to help residents identify and address challenges in their neighborhoods by helping various independent agencies work together.
Moore's practice focuses primarily on employment issues related to workplace policies, claims of discrimination and mistreatment in the workplace, and wage and hour compliance. She also assists on corporate and litigation matters.
Prior to joining Varnum, Moore worked at the National Housing Law Project where she spent significant time researching and writing about foreclosure statutes. She also served as a legal intern with the Michigan House of Representatives. During law school, she was a student-attorney in the Community and Economic Development Clinic where she first discovered her interest in labor and employment law by advising a startup entrepreneur on various state and federal employment laws.
Moore is a graduate of University of Michigan Law School and earned her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University. She joined Varnum in 2018.
