Miller Named to Leadership Detroit Class XL
Varnum attorney Jill Miller has been accepted into Leadership Detroit Class XL, a ten-month community leadership program designed to challenge emerging and existing leaders from Southeast Michigan to bring about positive change.
Miller is a partner in Varnum’s Business and Corporate Services Practice Team. She counsels companies in the electronic payment card processing industry on contractual and regulatory matters, and advises clients who work with mobile payments, electronic fund transfers and stored value cards.
Now in its 40th year, Leadership Detroit aims to create awareness of key issues that affect the Detroit region and train individuals for informed community leadership. The program is led by the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Leadership Detroit kicks off with a two-day orientation retreat in September followed by a series of sessions through June 2019. Among the topics covered are economic prosperity, educational preparedness, race and diversity, arts and culture, and health and human services.
Leadership Detroit Class XL includes 70 executives from across seven Southeast Michigan counties representing a cross-section of the community, including business, organized labor, government, education, media, civic groups, health services and community organizations. More than 1,800 participants have taken part in the program since it was launched in 1979.
