Varnum immigration attorney Yvonne Kupfermann has been named to the board of directors for Justice for Our Neighbors – Michigan, a professional immigration legal services provider.
A ministry of the United Methodist Church, Justice for Our Neighbors helps aspiring residents who may not otherwise be able to afford or access critical legal assistance. The JFON network provides free or low-cost immigration legal services to vulnerable immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers as well as engaging in advocacy for immigrant justice and working towards improving the nation’s immigration policies and our communities’ relationships with immigrants. The board of directors at the state level provides governance and oversight to all JFON locations in Michigan.
Kupfermann focuses her practice primarily on employment and family-based immigration, assisting clients with permanent residence petitions. Her experience includes advising on the labor certification process, visas for extraordinary ability, multinational managers and executive positions, and deferred action matters.
Kupfermann also serves on the board of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. She joined Varnum in 2017.
