Koning to Present at First-Ever ICLE Entrepreneurial Law Institute
Varnum attorney Harvey Koning will be a featured speaker at the inaugural ICLE Entrepreneurial Law Institute to be held Thursday, May 28 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit.
Koning, an experienced corporate attorney focusing on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising, leads Varnum's banking and finance practice. He works with a wide variety of businesses, from startups to public companies. For the past several years, Koning has worked extensively with clients in Varnum's MiSpringboard program, an initiative to provide $1 million in free legal services to Michigan startups and second stage businesses.
Koning's presentation is entitled "Don't Always Go to Delaware: Formation Strategies." It will include information about the advantages of using a Michigan corporation or LLC.
Other notable speakers at the conference include David Blaskiewicz, president of Invest Detroit, and Rick DeVos and Dan Gilbert who will provide the opening keynote presentation, East Meets West. DeVos, a West Michigan native, is the founder of ArtPrize. Dan Gilbert, a native of Detroit, is chairman and founder of Rock Ventures and Quicken Loans.
