Kaploe to Chair Tax Section Committee of SBM
Varnum Attorney Evan Kaploe was appointed Chairperson for the Practice and Procedure Committee of the State Bar of Michigan Taxation Section.
The Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan is a very large and active section with over 1,300 members. As chairperson for the Practice and Procedures Committee, Kaploe's responsibilities include general oversight of the committee budget and functions, providing content to the publication "The Michigan Tax Lawyer," organizing CLE classes for members, assisting in commenting on legislation from a practice and procedure standpoint, and speaking and participating during the Annual Tax Conference.
Kaploe's practice focuses on the litigation of civil and criminal tax controversies with the state and federal government, as well as in the litigation of commercial disputes. He also represents small to large companies, their officers, and other professionals in difficult tax and business matters, whether in a transactional or litigation setting.
