Kaminski Named Co-Vice Chair of SBM Debtor/Creditor Committee
Varnum attorney Shanna Kaminski has been named co-vice chair of the Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee of the State Bar of Michigan’s Business Law Section.
The Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee serves attorneys whose practices focus on bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Committee leadership monitors new statutes, rules and cases of interest to members and provides updates on case law, meetings and events. The committee is also in the early stages of planning a seminar on healthcare restructuring. Future plans include working with ICLE and the State Bar to create a practice roadmap, outlining what creditor/debtor lawyers should know and creating a curriculum to meet those educational needs.
Kaminski is a member of Varnum’s Litigation and Trial Practice Team. She focuses her debtor/creditor rights practice on bankruptcy-related litigation, including defending individuals and businesses in adversary proceedings brought against them in bankruptcy courts across the country.
A graduate of Valparaiso School of Law, Kaminski is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, and the Turnaround Management Association, Network of Women Committee. She also serves as vice chair of the Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association.
