Gleason Selected as ATHENA Young Professional Finalist

September 10, 2015

Varnum estate planning attorney Linsey Gleason has been selected as a finalist for Athena Young Professional Award, celebrating young professionals who are recognized as emerging leaders in the community. The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce announced the top ten finalists last week.

The Athena Young Professional Award recognizes individuals who are 40 years old or younger for their professional excellence, creativity and initiative; mentorship to young women; and service to others in the community.

Gleason is a partner at Varnum. Her legal practice focuses on full service estate plan preparation, estate and trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship services, elder law advice and special needs trusts.

Gleason currently serves as Chair of the Senior Neighbors, Inc. Board of Directors. She is also involved in the LaughFest Cabinet of Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids and Holland Home Foundation Board. She serves the Heart of West Michigan United Way as a member of the Finance and Audit Committee. As a member of Leadership Grand Rapids Class of 2013, Gleason also serves the Center for Community Leadership.

"We are always proud when one of our attorneys is recognized with an honor like the Athena Young Professional Award," said Tom Kyros, Varnum's Executive Partner. "As someone who works closely with Linsey, it is very easy for me to see why she is nominated and deserving of this honor. She clearly demonstrates professional excellence in her legal practice, and her community involvement is remarkable. We are very proud to call her our partner."

Athena and Athena Young Professional finalists are chosen through a nomination process. This year’s award recipients and finalists will be honored at the 26th Anniversary Athena Award Celebration on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott, International Ballroom, 235 Louis Campau.
